THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP will support the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland’s three-year peak body funding contract with Multicultural Affairs Queensland, to boost multicultural services across the State.
Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs, John-Paul Langbroek said the LNP was committed to supporting multicultural providers and communities in Queensland.
“This additional $1.5 million over four years (taking the total funding to $500,000 annually) is essential to support the great work of the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland,” Mr Langbroek said.
“The ECCQ’s role is an important one in multicultural services.
“They provide practical support to our multicultural communities, helping with services to assist with newly arrived migrants, as well as providing social and cultural links.
“We are extremely lucky to have such a diverse and multicultural community in Queensland and the LNP will continue to support multicultural initiatives that embrace our diverse communities and help them to thrive,” said Mr Langbroek.
Mr Langbroek said Queenslanders could vote for the $1.5 million investment in the ECCQ, and a Fresh Start for Queensland, by voting LNP on October 26.
"Only by voting 1 LNP will Queenslanders get a Fresh Start and projects like the support for the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland,” Mr Langbroek said.
“Labor are desperate to hold onto power, but unless we change the government, we’ll continue to get more of the same under Labor.
“This is the opportunity for a Fresh Start with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
