THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed deliver a 99-year lease to secure tenure and funding for fairway irrigation to future-proof of the Beerwah Golf Club in Caloundra if elected on October 26.
The Beerwah Golf Club has been trying to negotiate an agreement to secure the long-term future of the golf course’s land for nearly 30 years.
By guaranteeing a 99-year extension to the club’s lease with the State Government, the LNP will ensure the stability and security of the club into the future and allow them to plan ahead.
The Club will also benefit from the installation of fairway irrigation which will ensure top level playing surfaces for members, visitors and the wider Beerwah community.
LNP candidate for Caloundra Kendall Morton said the $225,000 irrigation project was part of their focus on working harder for Queenslanders, while under Labor Queensland was heading in the wrong direction.
“The LNP will restore a government that works for you, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” Ms Morton said.
“The Beerwah Golf Club is known as one of the friendliest golf clubs on the Sunshine Coast, and this commitment will allow them to invest in their club facilities with confidence and provide certainty and protection of green space for this much-loved community.
“Labor’s failures have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts that could have instead delivered grassroots infrastructure like this fairway irrigation.
“Queenslanders should have a government that delivers the programs and services needed for the State’s future, supporting our communities.”
Beerwah Golf Club Wendy Bradley welcomed the announcement and said it would be of huge benefit to the community.
“This will give our club the certainty we need to plan and invest in our community going forward,” Ms Bradley said.
Kendall Morton said Queenslanders could vote for land and irrigation support and a government which worked for them, by voting LNP at this election.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to ensure the right focus on delivering the programs, services and communities for our state,” Ms Morton said.
“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
