THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP will deliver a major new lighting package for four Caloundra sports clubs, as part of its Games On! program, if elected this month.
The $1 million commitment will be a major cost saving initiative for local sports clubs while also expanding capacity for games and matches to be played at night, including Caloundra Sharks Rugby Club, Baringa Football Club and Caloundra Rugby Union
The LNP’s Community Lighting Plan will see funding committed to:
- Pelican Waters Bowls Club new lighting
- Caloundra Sharks Rugby League lighting upgrade
- Baringa Football Club new lighting
- Caloundra Rugby Union lighting upgrade
LNP candidate for Caloundra, Kendall Morton said the commitment was part of the LNP’s Right Plan for Caloundra’s Future.
“The LNP’s Community Lighting Fund will enable these clubs to grow and expand their facilities to keep pace with our growing population in Caloundra,” Ms Morton said.
“The LNP’s commitment will enable Baringa Football Club to install new lights and train and play at night, while other clubs will be able to upgrade and replace existing lighting to have better visibility at night and lower power bills with more efficient lighting.
“We know local clubs are struggling under Labor’s rising electricity costs and this is a major way to futureproof these clubs.
“This is part of the LNP’s Games On! program to deliver a sporting legacy for Queensland, by investing in grassroots sporting clubs.”
Kendall Morton said Queenslanders could vote for the LNP’s boost to Caloundra sports club and a Fresh Start for Queensland, by voting LNP.
“Only by voting 1 LNP will Caloundra get a Fresh Start and projects like our boost to Caloundra Sports clubs and our $400m Caloundra Traffic Plan,” Ms Morton said.
“Labor and Jason Hunt are desperate to hold onto power, but unless we change the government, we’ll continue to get more of the same under Labor.
“This is the opportunity for a Fresh Start with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
