THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed to a significant partnership with Redland City Council to develop and implement a comprehensive conservation management plan for the Coochiemudlo Emerald Fringe.
This investment will ensure the preservation of one of the area’s most ecologically and historically significant sites, if elected next month.
The comprehensive conservation management plan will protect the natural environment, enhance invasive species management, and ensure the sustainability of the Emerald Fringe.
This project reflects the LNP's strong commitment to preserving local environmental treasures and ensuring a greener future for Queensland.
LNP candidate for Redlands, Rebecca Young, said the $100,000 project would help deliver the management plan needed to protect and sustain this unique and significant environment for future generations.
“The LNP will preserve our environment with more conservation and support for natural habitats and native wildlife as part of the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” Rebecca Young said.
“This investment in this special place, the Coochiemudlo Emerald Fringe, will set a standard for local environmental projects that prioritise sustainability and ecological integrity.
“It's about making sure we protect what’s special about our natural heritage.”
The Coochiemudlo Heritage Society welcomed the announcement and said it would provide significant support for local conservation efforts and protect the community’s natural resources.
The Coochiemudlo Heritage Society Secretary, John Buckley, welcomed the commitment.
“It will mean an easier and clearer approach to planning changes and developments as well as a better opportunity to seek grants for improvements and preservation,” said Mr Buckley.
Rebecca Young said Redlands could vote for a fresh start in environmental protection and conservation by voting LNP at this election.
