THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed $1.5 million to increase the height of the Austinville Causeway to improve the flood immunity on Gold Coast-Springbrook Road for the benefit of local motorists in Mudgeeraba if elected next month.
LNP candidate for Mudgeeraba, Ros Bates MP said the $1.5 million would ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit.
“The LNP will restore respect for your money, delivering projects on time and on budget, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” Ms. Bates said.
“This raise to the Austinville Causeway will prevent the communities of Austinville and Springbrook from being cut off during even minor rainfall and make the road safe.
“Queenslanders are currently paying far more and getting far less under Labor.
"Time's up for Labor’s expensive failures which have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts, that could have instead delivered local infrastructure like raising the Austinville Causeway.
“I have been fighting to secure an upgrade of the Austinville causeway for a number of years, The Austinville causeway is notorious for flooding and frequently causes residents of Springbrook and Austinville to be cut off from their main route to and from Mudgeeraba, forcing them to find an alternative route and often costing them hours in travel time.
Ros Bates MP said Queenslanders could vote for raising the Austinville Causeway and a government focused on driving down cost pressures, by voting LNP at this election.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to restore respect for their money,” said Ms. Bates.
“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
