Tamborine Mountain is set for a major facelift with an elected LNP Government to provide $3 million towards restoration and infrastructure upgrades following recent severe storms and weather events.
Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP, announced the funding commitment today, which will see enhanced public spaces and essential upgrades to support the resilience and vibrancy of the region.
“I’m proud to announce that if a Federal LNP Government is elected, it will provide $3 million towards beautification and infrastructure upgrades across Tamborine Mountain following recent storm and weather events,” Mr Buchholz said.
“This is a vital investment in restoring and revitalising one of the region’s most iconic destinations. Tamborine Mountain is a jewel of the Scenic Rim, attracting visitors from across the country and providing a wonderful home for residents and businesses.
“Recent storms have taken their toll, but this investment will ensure the community bounces back stronger than ever. Tamborine Mountain deserves the very best, and this investment will ensure it remains a thriving, picturesque destination for years to come.
“Only the LNP has a plan to invest in local communities, rebuild vital infrastructure, and get Australia back on track.”
Scenic Rim Regional Council Mayor Tom Sharp welcomed the commitment, saying the funding would be critical in restoring and enhancing the township.
“Tamborine Mountain is one of our region’s most treasured locations, and these upgrades will not only repair damage but also improve the streetscape for residents and visitors alike,” Mayor Sharp said.
“Scott Buchholz has been a fierce advocate for our community, and we sincerely thank him for securing this funding.”
Scenic Rim Local Councillor Amanda Hay also praised the investment, highlighting the importance of keeping the area attractive and accessible for tourism and businesses.
“Tourism and small business are the backbone of Tamborine Mountain, and a well-maintained, beautiful streetscape is key to attracting visitors,” Cr Hay said.
“These upgrades will make a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful to Scott Buchholz and the LNP for standing up for our community.”
