The Fassifern Bombers will soon have a first-class clubhouse to match their team spirit, with a Federal LNP Government committing $1.95 million to upgrade the Hayes Park complex.
Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP, announced the funding commitment today, reaffirming his strong support for grassroots sport in the region.
Mr Buchholz said the investment would help build a modern facility for players, families, and the wider community.
“I’m proud to announce that a LNP Federal Government will invest $1.95 million towards a clubhouse upgrade at the Fassifern Bombers Hayes Park complex,” Mr. Buchholz said.
“The Fassifern Bombers are more than just a football club, they’re a pillar of the local community, bringing people together and fostering the next generation of talent.
“This investment will deliver a much-needed upgrade to their facilities, ensuring they have a top-quality clubhouse for years to come.
“Only the LNP will continue to back grassroots sport, invest in local clubs, create better facilities, and deliver real results for our regions to get Australia back on track.”
Hayes Oval Incorporated President Jason Miles welcomed the funding commitment, saying it would be a game-changer for the club.
“This upgrade has been a long time coming, and we’re thrilled to have the support to finally make it happen,” Mr Miles said.
“Scott Buchholz has always backed local sport, and we can’t thank him enough for fighting to secure this funding for the Bombers.”
Scenic Rim Regional Council Mayor Tom Sharp also praised the announcement, highlighting the benefits for the wider community.
“Local sporting clubs are the lifeblood of our communities, and modern facilities help them continue to thrive,” Mayor Sharp said.
“This investment will ensure the Fassifern Bombers have a clubhouse that meets the needs of players and supporters, and I commend Scott Buchholz and the LNP for their commitment to strengthening regional sport.”
