An elected Dutton-led Liberal National Government will provide vital support for local sports enthusiasts and seniors by delivering $2 million towards the expansion of the Bribie Island Bowls Club in Bongaree.
"I’ve had strong feedback from the local community about the need for this expansion to accommodate the increasing demand for bowls and improve facilities for all members,” Terry Young, Member for Longman, said.
“This commitment will ensure local retirees and bowling enthusiasts can enjoy greater access to their chosen sport in a sun-safe, weather-protected environment here in the Bongaree community.
“I’ll always listen and fight for our community. This project will expand access to the sport and enhance the social space through a $2 million commitment."
Kevin Bertwistle, General Manager of the Bribie Island Bowls Club, said “This vital investment in an additional covered artificial green and upgraded facilities will help meet the growing demand for bowls.
“Thanks to Terry Young for delivering this support to Bribie Island Bowls Club and its members.”
This commitment is part of the LNP plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
