THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed to completing a comprehensive safety audit of Albany Creek Road that will identify and propose much needed improvements to this arterial road corridor in Aspley if elected next month.
Albany Creek Road is a popular road passage between Aspley and Albany Creek. It has experienced over 200 reported Road Traffic Crashes in the past 20 years, which does not even include unreported minor incidents and near misses. The frequency of illegal hooning and speeding along this road has increased in recent years and the local residents are calling on the government for action.
LNP candidate for Aspley, Amanda Cooper said the $1,000,000 project would ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit.
“This safety audit will help to address concerns such as the increase in dangerous accidents, a lack of safe pedestrian and cycle pathways and a lack of bus stops for local residents”, Cooper said. “There are also a number of retirement villages and childcare centres positioned on the corridor with many new residential developments which would all benefit from better and safer access points.”
Local resident Divi Prasad welcomed the announcement saying he hoped the audit would help make the area safer for his active family. “We’ve recently moved into the area and while Council have created some great walking tracks for locals, my kids need to get to those areas from Albany Creek Road”, said Prasad.
“The LNP will restore respect for your money, delivering projects on time and on budget, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” Cooper said. “Queenslanders are currently paying far more and getting far less under Labor.
"Time's up for Labor’s expensive failures which have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts, that could have instead improved local infrastructure like Albany Creek Road.”
Cooper said Queenslanders could vote for road safety and a government focused on driving down cost pressures, by voting LNP at this election.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to restore respect for their money,” Cooper said.
“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
