THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed to support the Redlands District’s University of the 3rd Age (U3A) to complete the building works at its dedicated Cleveland premises, to ensure there are high quality and affordable education and activities for local seniors in the Redlands if elected on October 26.
The U3A have been working on its dedicated facility in Cleveland for some time, reaching lockup stage in recent months. But with important plumbing and sewage works still required, as well as a need for internal fitout, IT resources, a storage shed and landscaping to come, the LNP’s support will get the new Cleveland U3A premises operational and ready to serve local seniors.
LNP candidate for Oodgeroo Amanda Stoker said the $250,000 project was targeted at providing affordable and meaningful local activities for older Redlanders.
“It’s vital to keep learning, socialising and staying active as we age, and U3A does really important work in making these opportunities affordably available for seniors in our community.
The LNP is proud to show its support for the work that U3A does to keep this part of the Redlands’ social fabric strong by helping to ensure its offering to our community is secure and improving into the future.”
Redlands District U3A president Janese Lowe welcomed the announcement and said it was great to see the LNP had listened to the concerns of local seniors and were providing support for more affordable and meaningful ways to stay socially, physically and mentally active.
“It will be wonderful to have, at last, a dedicated and accessible base in Cleveland from which U3A can run its range of programs in and for our community. Whether it’s languages, computer skills or the arts, photography, golf, craft or games, there’s something for everyone at U3A. And with this support to get our Cleveland premises completed and operational, that offering will be better than ever!”
Amanda Stoker said Queenslanders could vote for this investment in the completion of the Redlands U3A’s Cleveland premises and a government which worked for them, by voting LNP at this election.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to ensure the right focus on delivering the programs, services and communities for our state,”
“This state needs a fresh start, and only the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland.”
