THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed to much-needed upgrades at Ormiston State School, to ensure every student has a great school experience in the Redlands if elected next month.
With a commitment of $73,000 for new shade and seating in the seniors seating area, musical instrument upgrades for its outstanding music program and modern water fountains, for which the seniors recently took responsibility for seeking peer consultation, then, having designed project briefs, presented their ideas to the P&C, lobbying the broader community of Ormiston State School. They will now have a better environment in which to learn than ever before.
LNP candidate for Oodgeroo Amanda Stoker said the investment would help the growing school to cater to the needs of its students into the future.
“This commitment ensures students can have sun-safe play, be well hydrated and ready to learn, comfortable in their play areas and well-equipped in their music program,” Amanda Stoker said.
“Every child deserves an engaging and comfortable environment in which to learn – it’s a precondition to thriving at school. I can’t wait to see the difference that these commitments, which reflect the priorities of the school’s P&C, will make for the student experience.”
Ormiston State School Council Member & P&C Vice President
Darren Cole welcomed the announcement and said it would set students up for successful learning.
“The Ormiston State School P&C welcomes this investment into capital projects that we’ve been working towards for some time. This is a great example of seeking feedback and hearing directly from the community as to what is needed and wanted. The Chilled bubblers will allow children to fill their drink bottles and stay hydrated during class and while they play. Shade and seating around the lunch areas will allow students to enjoy their break times without too much time in the sun.”
“The funding for the music program can be used for instrument repairs, servicing and replacement, so that more families can afford to have their child involved in this very popular and successful co-curricular activity.”
Amanda Stoker said Queenslanders could vote for these improvements at Ormiston State School and get a government with the right plan for Queensland, by voting LNP at the upcoming election.
