A Message From Amanda
Hi, I'm Amanda Camm, your State Member for Whitsunday.
Member for Whitsunday Amanda Camm is serving her first term in Queensland Parliament In her first term Amanda was integral in the establishment of the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Economic and Regulatory Framework for Queensland’s Island Resorts after our local Keswick Island community was failed by government.
Amanda has been a strong advocate for victims of crime and the failure of the QLD DNA Lab’s maladministration after evidence of Shandee Blackburn’s murder case failings uncovered serious flaws in testings thresholds and culture that has resulted in thousands of cases requiring testing.
Amanda is passionate about rural and regional equity as has supported women and victims of the Mackay Base Hospital Obstetrics and Gynaecology Review and will continue to fight for our regions fair share and right to quality services.
Amanda has served on the Mental Health Select Committee and Economics and Governance Parliamentary Committee of Queensland.
Prior to entering Queensland Parliament, Amanda served as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of the Mackay region.
Amanda is a long-time local with a passion for positive impact, improving the region’s economy and connecting community. She has continually contributed to the region’s growth and prosperity through her diverse experience across government, economic and social development, tourism and travel, mining services and primary producer.
Amanda is committed to making a positive impact that delivers access, equity and opportunity for our region, in turn supporting growth and improved liveability.
Amanda serves as Shadow Minister for Women's Economic Security; the Prevention of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence; and Child Protection.
