Thank you for signing our petition.
It’s no secret that we’re all getting increasingly frustrated with the inadequacy of the road network locally. These roads include the Captain Cook Highway, the Smithfield Bypass, the Kuranda Range Road and the Western Arterial Road.
A lack of planning to keep up with population growth, a lack of understanding about the importance of major road transport routes linking our city to the hinterland and a lack of strong political representation at the State Government level, means Barron River now has main roads that are frequently closed, or plagued by congestion.
For the last decade, the Palaszczuk/Miles Government has played catch-up on the Captain Cook Highway and made a complete mess of the Kuranda Range Road.
Whether you’re trying to get to work, or just trying to get the kids to school, please - sign my petition calling on Labor to get serious about the roads in our region.
