Cost of Living
Respect for your money with the Saving You Paying Plan
The LNP has the Right Plan to restore respect for your money.
The Saving You Paying Plan puts the focus back on driving down cost of living for Queenslanders, both in the short and the long-term, and getting maximum benefit from every single taxpayer dollar spent.
Responsible economic management not only grows our economy, it drives down cost pressures for Queenslanders. Over the past year, Labor’s expensive failures across housing, crime, health and cost of living have hit us all in the hip pocket. Queenslanders have copped some of the biggest cost increases in the nation, including for childcare, healthcare, sports participation and food. Our rents, electricity, transport and insurance costs are all skyrocketing.
These cost pressures have been fuelled by systemic, long-term government failures. As a result, Queenslanders are paying much more and getting far less.
Queensland needs a fresh start. Our plan will restore respect for your money by stopping Labor’s expensive failures and budget blowouts which are costing you more.
The LNP’s plan will ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit. Our plan will repair the structural cost of living issues and deliver projects on time and on budget. Our plan will invest for the future by growing our economy and delivering more jobs. That’s our commitment to Queenslanders.
The LNP's Saving You Paying Plan will:
✓ Repair
✓ Invest
Time's Up for Labor’s failures:
✗ 19.9% increases in power bills last year.
✗ 29% increase in car registration costs.
✗ 29.5% increase in transport costs.
✗ 79.6% increase in insurance costs.
✗ $20+ billion in project cost blowouts that could have delivered critical upgrades.
The LNP will restore respect for your money by stopping Labor’s expensive failures and budget blowouts which are pushing up costs for families and small businesses.

Matt & Emily’s Story
Matt and Emily’s dining table is the heart of their home. It’s where they eat together and where they pay their mounting bills.
Lately those bills have been harder to pay. Their rent has jumped to $670 a week because new housing hasn’t kept up with population growth. The price of electricity continues to go up while a major power plant has been lights-out.
Labor’s decisions are driving up Queenslanders’ cost of living. Queenslanders shouldn’t have to pay for Labor’s failures.
That’s why the LNP’s plan will take pressure off renters by delivering one million new homes across Queensland, and our Electricity Maintenance Guarantee will keep the lights on at power plants to keep costs down for families.
Because Governments should drive down costs and respect your money.
