Meet Dan
A Message From Dan
Hi, I'm Dan Purdie, your LNP member for Ninderry.
I am proud and honoured to have been elected as the inaugural member for Ninderry.
I feel fortunate to call the coast home. My wife, a local school teacher, and I have two daughters, and can’t think of a better place to raise them. And that is why I put my hand up to represent our local area and protect our way of life. We need to ensure we have the local infrastructure and services our growing region needs to support jobs and families, and I am committed to fighting for our fair share.
Since 2017, I have been serving the people of Ninderry. Prior to then, I served in the Queensland Police service for 25 years, and am passionate about law and order, which is why I made the transition from catching law-breakers, to joining law-makers. Not to fulfil a lifelong dream to be a politician, but as a further step to serve my community.
From my first speech in Parliament, I’ve said that I believe a government’s highest priority should be the safety and security of its citizens. I’ve seen the best and worst of our community, which has strengthened my resolve to continue working hard to deliver positive outcomes for those living and working in Ninderry.
As the Shadow Minister for Police and Community Safety, I am passionate about cracking down on crime, and if elected in October, the LNP will implement the Making our Community Safer Plan. This will ensure offenders are held to account, and the rights of victims put first.
Our Adult Crime, Adult Time policy will restore consequences for actions with youth offenders and ensure repeat juvenile offenders who commit serious, violent crimes, will face the full force of the law. We know that a harsh punishment acts as a strong deterrent.
But for things to change, we must change the government. This is why I am asking for your support again at this State election. I am proud to be a member of David Crisafulli’s LNP team, and together we are committed to securing Queensland’s future. One where our best days are ahead of us.
