Meet Dan
A Message From Dan
Hon Dan Purdie, Minister for Police and Emergency Services.
I am proud and honoured to have been elected as the inaugural member for Ninderry.
I feel fortunate to call the coast home. My wife, a local school teacher, and I have two daughters, and can’t think of a better place to raise them. And that is why I put my hand up to represent our local area and protect our way of life. We need to ensure we have the local infrastructure and services our growing region needs to support jobs and families, and I am committed to fighting for our fair share.
Since 2017, I have been serving the people of Ninderry. Prior to then, I served in the Queensland Police service for 25 years, and am passionate about law and order, which is why I made the transition from catching law-breakers, to joining law-makers. Not to fulfil a lifelong dream to be a politician, but as a further step to serve my community.
From my first speech in Parliament, I’ve said that I believe a government’s highest priority should be the safety and security of its citizens. I’ve seen the best and worst of our community, which has strengthened my resolve to continue working hard to deliver positive outcomes for those living and working in Ninderry.
