The intersection of James Street, Doggett Street and Robertson Street in the Valley (outside The Calile) is one of the most dangerous intersections in Brisbane.

There have been 11 crashes between 2018 and 2023 resulting in injury or hospitalisation. It’s also one of the Peninsula’s most notorious rat-runs.

That’s why Councillor Vicki Howard, Councillor for Central Ward, led the charge for much-needed improvements to this intersection. After consulting with the community about the proposed solution, Vicki was able to get this project listed for consideration as part of the Black Spot Program.

Unfortunately, the former State Labor Government refused to endorse this project for assessment - even though it met all the criteria.

That’s why I’m fighting for this critical funding to be secured to help keep pedestrians and motorists safer on our local streets.

Please help me to make sure the Black Spot Upgrade at James, Doggett and Robertson Streets is fully funded by signing my petition and electing a Liberal National Government.
