THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The Northern Gold Coast community will benefit from a brand-new Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC), if the LNP is elected on October 26.
The LNP has committed to funding a PCYC in Pimpama, to provide youth and community programs as well as dedicated facilities on the Northern Gold Coast.
LNP Member for Coomera Michael Crandon said the $5 million project forms part of the LNP’s Making Our Community Safer Plan to tackle the youth crime crisis, and will deliver important benefits to the growing community.
“This PCYC to be established in Pimpama will encourage social cohesion, address whole of community needs and positively impact local youth,” Mr Crandon said.
“These clubs play a vital role in the lives of young people to have positive experiences, get involved in a range of sports and activities, and benefit from great mentors and community leaders including our serving police officers.
President of the Rotary Club of Ormeau Pimpama, 2024/25, Mike Mellare welcomed the funding commitment.
“We thank Michael Crandon for his commitment to the establishment of a PCYC in the Coomera Electorate. The facility will provide a positive and inclusive environment committed to enhancing our community for the youth in the Ormeau and Pimpama areas.”
Phil Schultz, Chief Executive Officer of PCYC Queensland said the project would help support a rapidly growing part of Queensland.
“I welcome and appreciate the commitment to providing additional funding for the new PCYC in Pimpama announced today.”
"These funds would play a crucial role in establishing a vibrant club that will not only serve, but also support, the many young people and families in this rapidly growing community. With the right resources, we can create a safe, welcoming environment that offers something for everyone.
"Michael Crandon has long championed the need for a PCYC in Pimpama, and it’s encouraging to see this recognition of the positive impact such a facility can have on the local community. We at PCYC Queensland appreciate his continued support.”
Michael Crandon MP said Queenslanders could vote for the Pimpama PCYC and a government which worked for them, by voting LNP at this election.
“This state needs a fresh start, and only the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland.”
