The LNP has committed to providing more bus services to Geebung Station, if elected on October 26.
An additional feeder bus service will provide east-west bus services, particularly along Albany Creek and Robinson Roads, minimising the need for more car spaces and supporting local businesses.
LNP candidate for Aspley Amanda Cooper said the $350,000 would ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit.
“Locals know that the Geebung Station carpark is full every single morning,” Ms Cooper said.
“We have a plan to provide direct, frequent and convenient bus services to the station and surrounding jobs, shops, schools and services to make public transport accessible.
“With only 106 car parks available at Geebung Rail Station, there’s no surprise it is full every day including weekends. This creates overflow parking, which restricts access to local businesses, frustrates neighbours and reduces accessibility to public transport.”
“We need more than 50 cent fares to get more people using public transport locally. We need better bus services that connect local jobs, schools, shops, rail stations and services,” Ms Cooper said.
Amanda Cooper said Queenslanders could vote for improved services and a government focused on driving down cost pressures, by voting LNP at this election.
"Time's up for Labor’s expensive failures which have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts, that could have instead delivered local infrastructure.”
“The LNP will restore respect for your money, delivering projects on time and on budget, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” Ms Cooper said.
“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
