The LNP has committed to a major upgrade of the Stafford Rd – South Pine Rd intersection in Everton to improve safety and get residents and workers out of traffic, and home earlier if elected this month.
The $30 million investment will allow for immediate planning, and to get construction started on a critical intersection impacting a number of heavily used roads, in suburbs growing with young families.
LNP MP for Everton Tim Mander said he had been campaigning for years to get the intersection upgraded.
“This $30 million investment is part of the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” said Mr Mander.
“The LNP’s commitment will help plan a better traffic flow in this chokepoint and develop solutions to get traffic moving again.
“We know people want to get home earlier, and not be sitting in their cars because Labor doesn’t plan properly.
“Families quite rightly want to move to this wonderful part of Brisbane, but we must invest in our road infrastructure to accommodate this growing community,” said Mr Mander.
Mr Mander said Queenslanders could vote for the intersection upgrade, and a Fresh Start for Queensland, by voting LNP on October 26.
“Only by voting 1 LNP will Queenslanders get a Fresh Start and projects like the Stafford Rd, South Pine Rd intersection upgrade delivered on budget and on time,” Mr Mander said.
“Labor is desperate to hold onto power, but unless we change the government, we’ll continue to get more of the same under Labor.
“This is the opportunity for a Fresh Start with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
