THE RIGHT PLAN FOR QUEENSLAND’S FUTURE
The LNP has committed to delivering the long-awaited Gold CityGlider service, to improve public transport in the McConnel electorate if elected this month.
This $6 million investment will co-fund the service with Brisbane City Council, providing fast and frequent bus services along Kingsford Smith Drive. The Gold CityGlider will connect Portside in Hamilton to Woolloongabba, linking key precincts including Fortitude Valley, King Street, and the CBD.
LNP Candidate for McConnel, Christien Duffey, said the $6 million project was part of his focus on working harder for Queenslanders, while under Labor, Queensland was heading in the wrong direction.
“The LNP will restore a government that works for you, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future,” Mr. Duffey said.
“This Gold CityGlider service will give McConnel residents the reliable public transport they deserve, helping to ease congestion and enhance lifestyle opportunities.
“Labor’s failures have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts that could have instead delivered grassroots infrastructure like the Gold CityGlider.
“Queenslanders should have a government that delivers the programs and services needed for the State’s future, supporting our communities.”
Local residents welcomed the announcement and said it would improve connectivity and access to key areas across Brisbane.
Mr. Duffey said Queenslanders could vote for the Gold CityGlider and a government which worked for them by voting LNP at this election.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to ensure the right focus on delivering the programs, services, and communities for our state,” Mr. Duffey said.
“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
