LNP Candidate for Noosa Clare Stewart said Noosa deserved answers and certainty about the future of the private hospital, not to be left in limbo ahead of the election.
“The LNP has been fighting for a lease to be signed to extend the Noosa hospital and give certainty to the Noosa community, but Sandy Bolton has failed to secure an agreement from the government,” Ms Stewart said.
“Until a lease is signed, sealed and delivered – there is no certainty for Noosa.
“After years of inaction, the best Labor could do is claim is a handshake deal, designed to dupe Noosa residents ahead of the election.
“The Independent Member for Noosa Sandy Bolton has consistently stated that our calls for this lease extension were ‘nonsense’.
“The only party that will deliver Noosa a long-term lease for the hospital and secure local health services for Noosa is the LNP.
“The LNP made a firm commitment in April that we will deliver a long-term lease for the operators of Noosa Hospital.
“We stand ready to deliver on that commitment if elected in October.
“Labor has taken the hardworking team at the Noosa Hospital for granted for too long.
“This campaign demonstrates what we can achieve together for Noosa in just five months from Opposition.
“I am determined to deliver the things I know our community needs if given the opportunity form part of an LNP Government at the upcoming election.”
