Meet Russell

I’m proud to stand as the LNP candidate for Capalaba at the upcoming Queensland State Election.

I spent over five decades working in the building and construction industry as a project manager and builder, before retiring almost four years ago to spend more time with my wife Ann and our family.

In 2021 my world was turned upside down when we received the news our son Matthew and his pregnant fiancé Kate were struck and killed by a drunk and high juvenile in a stolen car.

My family’s loss has opened our eyes to the youth crime crisis and injustice for victims in Queensland. I am committed to strengthening the laws, so no other family endures what we have been through.

The current laws are inadequate and I’m standing up to do something about it.

If elected in October, the David Crisafulli LNP team and I will put into law our ‘Making Queensland Safer Laws’ by Christmas 2024. Including our Adult Crime, Adult Time policy to restore consequences for actions with youth offenders held accountable for their crimes, with the ability to receive the same sentences as adults committing the same crimes.
