Sign our petition to demand stronger laws and more police. Send Labor a message that we will not accept cuts to local police resources on the southern Gold Coast.
The threat of violent home invasion, bashings and car theft has never felt more real. Labor’s weak laws and cuts to local police have stretched resources even as our population soars. The Palaszczuk-Miles Labor Government just aren’t serious on crime.
- It has been reported that1 Labor cut six police positions from the Palm Beach police division, affecting families across Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads and Burleigh Waters. This means fewer police available to respond to crimes, at a time when crime across the State is at near record highs.
- Car thefts on the Gold Coast are up 71% since 2015. More than 230 cars have been stolen in Varsity Lakes in the last 5 years.
- Dangerous anti-social behaviour and substance abuse is now rife in our coastal villages and along the iconic Burleigh Esplanade.
- Labor Minister Mark Ryan rejected an invitation to meet with residents and victims about worsening crime in our area, despite clear signs that under Labor, crime in our area is getting worse.
Please, sign our petition and help protect our lifestyle in Burleigh.
Tell Labor that they need to get serious about crime.
