I am committed to the Sunshine Coast region and my vision is to see it become “the healthiest place on earth”. I care deeply about civil society, and helping individuals and communities realise their potential by taking control of their own future.
I believe that the key to the Sunshine Coast’s future is strong and sensible economic growth that protects and leverages the region’s strengths.
Nothing is more important to me than family. I grew up as the youngest of nine children to Tom and Bernice O’Brien; with two big sisters and six big brothers. My wife, Sophia, who is a university lecturer in law on the Sunshine Coast, and I live in Buderim with our three children, Alexandra (10), Henry (5) and Edwina who arrived late 2023.
