Meet Jeremy

Hi, I'm Jeremy Neal, your LNP candidate for Leichhardt

Living in Cairns with my family, we are proud to call ourselves Far North Queenslanders. With three boys attending school locally, my Registered Nurse wife and I make the most of the tropical lifestyle we all enjoy up here.

I’m currently serving as a Paramedic, having spent 15 years with the Queensland Ambulance Service. My time in the QAS has seen me work in Cairns, Mossman, Mareeba, Kuranda, Cooktown, and Bamaga.

I have seen the good and bad with my 15 years of service. While our region is a beautiful place to live, there’s still many of us doing it tough. Every day I’m in homes seeing people struggle with the cost-of-living.

I see extended families cramming under one roof because they can’t find somewhere to live. I see our remote residents stuck in Cairns for healthcare that they can’t access on the Cape.

When I’m not on shift, our family still faces the same issues as you. We know how much extra it is to feed a family now. We worry about the next interest rate rise on our home loan. We know how much it costs to keep the house cool in summer and fill up the car to get to work.

I want to be part of a Liberal National Coalition Government that focuses on the real issues facing all of us as Australians. With your support, I’m ready to fight for you to make a difference on these important everyday issues we face in Far North Queensland.

The Australia we all want is still within reach – it’s just going to take some hard work to get there.
