The LNP has committed to funding the Top Blokes mentorship and well-being programs at the YMCA Vocational School in Victoria Point, if elected this month.
The proven program aims to enhance the support and development of male students, providing them with the skills and resilience needed to succeed.
The Top Blokes program delivers higher attendance rates, reduced antisocial behaviour, and improved academic performance among male students.
LNP candidate for Redlands, Rebecca Young, said the $75,000 project was part of their focus on working harder for Queenslanders while under Labor, Queensland was heading in the wrong direction.
“This commitment will bring Top Blokes Foundation’s expertise to the school, fostering positive masculinity, mental health, and life skills education.” Rebecca Young said.
“By fostering a supportive environment and addressing underlying issues, the program aims to enhance student engagement and motivation.
Additionally, the program encourages community engagement and responsibility, helping students build stronger connections with their peers and the wider community.
“Labor’s failures have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts that could have instead delivered grassroots community projects like this one.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024 to ensure the right focus on delivering the programs, services, and communities for our state,” Rebecca Young said.
“Only the LNP stands ready to deliver a fresh start for Queensland.”
