The LNP will provide funding to upgrade the Calliope Football Club, in Callide if elected this month.
This funding will support much-needed upgrades to the club's fields and facilities, to support their needs as the community and club grows.
Member for Callide Bryson Head MP said the $30,000 was part of the LNP’s focus on working harder for local community groups in Queensland, which, under Labor, were often left behind in rural communities.
“This funding provides the Calliope Football club with the opportunity for a much-needed facelift, and importantly to give the club the opportunity to use the funds to suit their needs” Mr Head said.
“Labor’s failures have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts that could have instead delivered many grassroots projects like this one for Calliope Football Ground, which mean so much for the local community.
“Queenslanders should have a government that supports our communities and delivers facilities and services needed for the State’s future.
“The LNP will restore a government that works for you, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
Morgan Binns, Calliope Football Club President welcomed the announcement and said, "The club has projects in the pipeline to improve the surface of the fields and upgrade the clubhouse facilities, these funds will provide a significant contribution towards these projects."
"As a club we aim to promote, foster and develop the game of football within the Calliope district.
“We want to provide a high-quality field to play and train on, and
offer a welcoming and functional environment for both players, visitors and the wider community,” said Morgan.
Mr Head said Queenslanders could vote for the Calliope Football Club upgrade, and a Fresh Start for Queensland, by voting LNP on October 26.
“Only by voting 1 LNP will Queenslanders get a Fresh Start and projects like the Football Club upgrade," Mr Head said.
“Labor is desperate to hold onto power, but unless we change the government, we’ll continue to get more of the same under Labor.
“This is the opportunity for a Fresh Start with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
