A historic, multi-use sports club in the heart of Maleny is set for a major upgrade under a Federal LNP Government

Member for Fisher, Andrew Wallace MP, has announced that the LNP will commit $600,000 to upgrade the Norris House Clubhouse and adjoining change-rooms, investing in one of Maleny's most popular recreational and sporting hubs.

“Maleny is renowned for its sense of welcome and warmth, which is in part thanks to those local community and sporting groups that bring families together,” Mr Wallace said.

“Whether it's football or equestrian sports, the Norris House Clubhouse plays an important role in getting Maleny locals active and building community spirit.

“Only a Dutton-led LNP Government will get Australia back on track and deliver crucial projects for our community like this one.

"Labor's cost-of-living crisis has made it harder to get families into sport, robbing kids of invaluable opportunities to learn, connect and keep active. At the same time, clubs like Maleny Rangers are left to fend for themselves, trying to fund vital sporting infrastructure when their members are doing it tougher than ever.

“If we want more girls, more kids, more families in sport, then the Government has to step up and get behind communities like Maleny and build the facilities we need to get Australians active."

President of the Maleny Rangers Football Club, Richard Jones, said, “This announcement is a big win for the Maleny community. This funding would make a world of difference to the clubs, families, and groups who call Norris House home.

“It’s an enormous show of support for what we do, and for the Maleny community. I’m so pleased that the LNP and Andrew Wallace are prepared to get behind our mission to upgrade the precinct.”
