Students in Mudgeeraba, Merrimac and Reedy Creek will have a safer journey to school if the LNP is elected on October 26.
The LNP has committed install flashing school zone lights at:
- Mudgeeraba Creek State School on Gold Coast Springbrook Road in Mudgeeraba
- Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School on Ghilgai Road in Merrimac
- King’s Christian College on Eden View Drive in Reedy Creek
An increase in traffic and local school populations has created a dangerous situation at these busy schools.
LNP Member for Mudgeeraba Ros Bates said the LNP is committed to delivering road safety infrastructure where it is most needed.
“The installation of flashing school zone lights will help to alert drivers to the presence of school children during critical times,” Ms Bates said.
“Both student numbers and traffic are on the rise in Mudgeereba, and Labor has failed to act. This is crucial for kids’ safety, we need these signs installed as soon as possible.”
Ms Bates said the $240,000 funding commitment will be spent ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit.
“The LNP will restore respect for your money, delivering projects on time and on budget, with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
Ms Bates said Queenslanders could vote for installing flashing school zone lights across Mudgeeraba and a government that works for them, by voting LNP at this election.
“This state needs a fresh start, and only the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland.”
