The Glenmore Bulls will score a big win if the LNP is elected on October 26.
The LNP has committed to building new amenities in Glenmore, to support the Aussie Rules club tackle their recent growth by the horns.
LNP candidate for Rockhampton, Donna Kirkland said the $200,000 project forms part of the LNP’s Games On! program, to encourage more kids into sport ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“These new amenities will support player and economic growth for both the club and across Rocky’s northside, to see grassroots sporting expand across our region,” Ms Kirkland said.
“It means the Glenmore Bulls will finally be able to focus on game preparations in their own space, while also making the facilities finally code compliant.”
Ms Kirkland said the new amenities will include female changerooms.
“The fact that in this modern day, female players are expected to share change facilities is unacceptable.
“Now with this announcement, the girls will feel a part of the club.”
Sean Peckover, Glenmore Bulls representative welcomed the announcement saying it would be a ‘real game-changer for their local club.’
“We are always looking for ways to better our club for the good of our players, volunteers and supporters, and this funding will go a long way to helping us expand further.
“The club has been super proactive applying for every grant we could. This support from LNP will provide the much-needed upgrades for our amenities and bring relief to a lot of our members who were starting to lose hope that we would ever get this done.”
“This is a club that has for many years celebrated inclusivity and with an ever-growing number of female players, it is imperative to see these upgrades implemented.”
Donna Kirkland said the LNP will restore a government that delivers the programs and services needed for the State’s future.
“This state needs a fresh start, and only the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland.”
