A Dutton LNP Government will provide a major boost to the Brisbane Equestrian community by upgrading the Runcorn Pony Club.
The $1 million commitment will go towards building extra stables, arena lighting, upgrading the canteen, and adding a competition area.
“Sport in Brisbane will be booming in preparation for the Olympics, which is why the LNP is backing our local community clubs like the Runcorn Pony Club,” LNP candidate for Moreton, Henry Swindon, said.
“There is a massive opportunity to improve participation in equestrian sport here in Brisbane. New lighting, extra stables and a competition area will allow this club to grow.
“The Olympics are just around the corner, and I think we will see some young champions riding out of here very soon.”
Councillor Kim Marx said she was delighted with the announcement.
“This is a fantastic boost for the Runcorn Pony Club and would enable them to deliver Olympic-Standard stalls ahead of the 2032 Games,” Cr Marx said.
“The Runcorn Pony Club was founded in 1964 and is Yepa cornerstone for our local equestrian community.
“This suburban club would be the perfect venue to host teams competing in the 2032 Olympics, and delivering new stalls would also be a legacy project for future
Generations.”
This commitment is part of the LNP’s plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track. To read more about our plan, visit https://online.lnp.org.au/get-australia-back-on-track.
