A Dutton LNP Government will deliver $1,275,000 for Blackstone United Football Club to support flood recovery and install changeroom facilities for women and girls.
Federal LNP candidate for Blair, Carl Mutzelburg, said the funding would provide the Blackstone United FC with a new clubhouse and changerooms.
“I came here and saw the damage caused by the recent flooding. We want to help this great community club get back on its feet and continue to grow with its community,” Mr Mutzelburg said.
“These upgrades will enhance the accessibility of the sport and create a welcoming environment for future generations of female athletes.
“To continue fostering an inclusive environment and encourage further female participation, it is essential that we provide a safe, private, and functional space for our female players.
“To support the growth in female participation, we need to back our local sporting clubs with investment and that is what these upgrades will do. The clubhouse upgrades that accompany the change rooms will be able to be used by all players.”
Blackstone United FC President, Jeremy Bruce, said, "We're incredibly grateful for the funding support to upgrade our facilities, including the addition of female-specific changerooms and improvements to our overall infrastructure.
“This investment will not only benefit Blackstone United FC but will also provide a lasting impact on all visiting teams in the association, supporting the growth of female participation in the sport," Mr Bruce said.
Blackstone United FC Registrar & Treasurer, Nyleta Bruce, said, “Blackstone United FC values the contribution that our female players, coaches, managers and committee members have made to the club over many years.
“This funding is an investment in our female players by providing them with the facilities they need to develop and succeed into the future. We truly value this investment from the LNP,” Ms Bruce said.
This commitment is part of the LNP plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
