LNP candidate for Blair, Carl Mutzelburg, announced that a Dutton LNP Government will back the Lowood Show Society and increase the use and capacity of the Lowood showgrounds with a new roof for the stud beef cattle shed, new grandstand, and ring fence upgrades.
“Show Societies are the lifeblood of our regional communities and a Dutton LNP Government will back the mighty Somerset by upgrading the Lowood Showgrounds,” Mr Mutzelburg said.
“We are supportive of grassroots organisations like the Lowood Show Society and want to ensure that the aging facilities receive the upgrades they need to expand and be accessible to a wider audience and a new generation.
“I’ll always listen and fight for our community. From Somerset to Ipswich, we need to build the community facilities our community needs and only a Dutton LNP Government can deliver these upgrades,” Mr Mutzelburg said.
Secretary of the Lowood Show Society, Janeen Schulz, said, “The Lowood Show Society is very excited to hear about the project’s announcement. We are always fundraising and applying for grants to resurrect our aging infrastructure and equipment.
“We are humbled that the LNP would consider us for this announcement and thank you very much.”
State Member for Lockyer, Jim McDonald MP, said, “The Lowood Showgrounds is a real community hub holding many successful events during the year - this announcement is further evidence that Carl is listening to our communities needs and delivering real solutions for us.”
