Federal Liberal National Party candidate for Ryan, Maggie Forrest, today announced that an elected Liberal National Government would provide $32,000 for lighting upgrades to the Gaythorne Bowls Club, improving access to the popular sporting facility.
“With 85 playing members and 225 social members, Gaythorne Bowls Club continues to be a hive of activity in the electorate of Ryan,” Federal LNP candidate for Ryan, Maggie Forrest, said.
“However, due to the deteriorating lighting at the facility, nighttime use of the club continues to be challenging for players and spectators.
“A lighting upgrade would allow its members to use the club earlier in the morning and later into the evening, making the facility more accessible and in turn, boosting the social and health outcomes for the community.
“This infrastructure upgrade will strengthen our already strong community spirit when it comes to sport and bring people even closer together.”
Treasurer of Gaythorne Bowls Club, Mitch Koroloff, said, “The upgrade of lighting will allow us to introduce night bowling, hopefully attracting younger members to the club”.
This commitment is part of the Liberal National Party’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get Australia back on track. To read more about our plan, visit lnp.au/ontrack.
