- Dedicated customer service teams will streamline support and create a “one stop shop” for small business accessing Government services.
- Regional innovation and start-up hubs funded with new grants program.
The LNP has committed to streamlining government services for Cairns small businesses if elected next month, with a new small business concierge service.
The small business concierge service is part of the LNP’s Small Business First policy and will provide a single contact point for all government services, for small and family businesses.
Shadow Minister for Small and Family Business, Brent Mickelberg, was joined by LNP Candidate for Barron River, Bree James, to confirm Cairns would benefit from the plan.
Shadow Minister for Small and Family Business, Brent Mickelberg, said the Small Business First policy was part of the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.
“We know small and family business is the engine room of our economy, and the LNP will help fuel their success in Queensland with a new ‘one stop shop’ to access government services,” said Mr Mickelberg.
“Under Labor, businesses are shutting up shop at a rapid rate with costs skyrocketing, the LNP will drive down cost pressures with our small business plan.”
LNP candidate for Barron River, Bree James, said the region’s small businesses were drowning in a sea of red tape, and struggling access the Government support they needed.
“The LNP will free up small and family businesses, so they can focus on getting customers through the door and growing their businesses to hire more local people," said Ms James.
“The LNP will also be funding innovation hubs across Queensland and we’ll be fighting to establish an Innovation Hub right here in Cairns, so we help emerging start-ups with the support needed to take their businesses to the next level.”
She Maps Chief Executive, Paul Mead, welcomed the commitment to the sector that employs nearly one in five Queenslanders.
“As a small business owner, we need all the help we can get to make sure Cairns gets an innovation hub to help the small start-ups thrive,” Mr Mead said.
“I know how hard it is to navigate Government services and get the information I need.
“A local hub would be welcome here to help us thrive.”
Barron River candidate, Bree James, said Queenslanders could vote for Small Business First Policy and a government which worked for them, by voting LNP at this election.
“Queenslanders must show Labor the door in 2024, to ensure the right focus on delivering the programs, services and communities for our state,” Ms James said.
“Nothing will change unless we change the government, only the LNP will deliver a fresh start for our state with the Right Plan for Queensland’s Future."
