Federal LNP Member for Bowman, Henry Pike MP, has today announced that a Dutton LNP Government will invest $400,000 in the construction of new female changerooms for the Capalaba Bulldogs Football Club to support women’s sport in the Redlands.
As members of the Bulldogs community commit their time and effort to building up the club, it’s an honour to be able to assist them in their vision to help the Capalaba Bulldogs Football Club grow.
“Women’s football has a rich history here in Capalaba,” Mr Pike said.
“Australia’s most capped footballer, Clare Polkinghorne, grew up playing for the Bulldogs. Clare and her Matildas teammates have inspired the next generation of young girls to get involved, get active, and give football a go.”
“This investment will ensure that the next Matildas stars will have the best facilities right here at the Capalaba Bulldogs.”
The Club has also shown resilience in recent months, seeing their playing fields flooded during Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Mr Pike said the club’s strong community spirit was evident during that event.
“It was wonderful to see the Bulldogs community band together to help get the fields back to standard following their flooding last month,” Mr Pike said.
“It’s a delight to be able to support a club with such a strong community ethos.”
“As members of the Bulldogs community commit their time and effort to building up the Club, it’s an honour to be able to assist them in their vision by committing federal support to help the Capalaba Bulldogs Football Club grow.”
This commitment is part of the LNP’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get Australia back on track.
