Federal LNP Member for Bowman, Henry Pike MP, has announced a Dutton LNP Government will commit $400,000 to support women’s sport in the Redlands through the construction of Redland United Football Club’s new female changerooms.
If the LNP is elected in May, this crucial $400,000 investment will help deliver state-of-the-art facilities that bring the Redlands United women’s program to an equal footing with the men’s football facilities, encouraging participation for all.
“We’ve seen the popularity of grassroots women’s football explode in the past few years off the back of the home FIFA World Cup and the efforts of the Matildas,” Mr Pike said.
Mr Pike said that this commitment by a Dutton LNP Government would ensure Redlands United could continue its tradition of producing future Matildas stars.
“Emily Gielnik grew up playing for Redlands United, and since 2012 has been a mainstay of the Matildas,” he said.
“This commitment to better facilities for Redlands girls will give local players the best opportunity to live out their dreams and become the football stars of the future.”
This commitment is part of the LNP’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get Australia back on track.
