Families in the Lockyer Valley will enjoy upgraded playgrounds and recreation facilities, with an elected LNP Government to deliver $800,000 to revitalising local community spaces.
The funding commitment, secured through the advocacy of Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP, will provide long-awaited playground and recreation upgrades to parks in Laidley and Gatton to support the growing region.
Mr Buchholz said he was proud to support investment in local infrastructure that encourages outdoor activity and strengthens community connections.
“I’m proud to announce that if the LNP is elected to Government, it will contribute $800,000 towards playground and recreation facility upgrades in Laidley and Gatton,” Mr Buchholz said.
“Upgrading these facilities will provide safer and more accessible spaces for families, kids, and the entire community to enjoy.
“Stronger communities start with better infrastructure. This investment will ensure Laidley and Gatton have modern, high-quality recreational areas that encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
“Only the LNP will continue to invest in the future of our regions and deliver the projects that matter most, deliver better local infrastructure, and get Australia back on track.”
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Tanya Milligan, welcomed the announcement, highlighting the importance of improving public spaces.
“This is fantastic news for families across the Lockyer Valley,” Mayor Milligan said.
“Playgrounds and recreational spaces are essential for fostering strong, connected communities, and this funding will help us deliver top-quality facilities.
“Scott Buchholz has always fought hard for our region, and we sincerely thank him for his strong advocacy in securing this investment.”
State Member for Lockyer, Jim McDonald MP, also praised the commitment, noting the positive impact of these upgrades.
“These improvements will make a real difference for local families, giving kids safe, modern places to play and enjoy the outdoors,” Mr McDonald said.
“Investing in our community spaces means investing in our future, and we’re grateful to Scott Buchholz and the Federal LNP for making this a priority.”
