The Beaudesert Kingfishers Rugby League Club is set to soar to new heights, with a Federal LNP Government to deliver $2.4 million to upgrade the club’s facilities.
The funding, announced by Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP, will help deliver a much-needed clubhouse upgrade, ensuring the Kingfishers have a modern, fit-for-purpose home for players, families, and the wider community.
Scott Buchholz said he was proud to fight for this investment, which will strengthen grassroots sport.
“I’m proud to announce that if the LNP is elected at the upcoming federal election, we will invest $2.4 million towards a clubhouse upgrade at the Beaudesert Kingfishers Rugby League Club,” Mr Buchholz said.
“The Beaudesert Kingfishers are at the heart of our community and this investment will make sure they have the facilities they deserve.
“Sport brings people together, keeps kids active, and builds community spirit. By backing this project, we’re not just upgrading a clubhouse, we’re supporting a club that has given so much to Beaudesert.
“Only the LNP has a plan to invest in the infrastructure our regions need and get Australia back on track. Only a Federal LNP Government will make investments like this a priority – because we know that when our communities thrive, our nation prospers.”
Beaudesert Kingfishers Rugby League Club President Justin Kummerow welcomed the announcement, saying it would be a game-changer for the club.
“This is fantastic news for our players, volunteers, and the wider community,” Mr Kummerow said.
“Scott Buchholz has always been a great supporter of our club and grassroots sport in our region, and we can’t thank him enough for his strong advocacy in securing this funding.”
Scenic Rim Regional Council Mayor Tom Sharp also praised the commitment, highlighting the importance of investing in local sport.
“Our sporting clubs play such a crucial role in our communities, and modern, accessible facilities are key to supporting their future,” Mayor Sharp said.
“This funding will help deliver a first-class facility for current and future generations of Kingfishers players, and I commend Scott Buchholz and the LNP for backing local sport.”
