Kalbar Showgrounds is set to shine brighter than ever, with an elected LNP Government to deliver $450,000 towards much-needed lighting upgrades.
The funding announced by the Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP, will enhance the safety and usability of the showgrounds, ensuring the space can host more community events well into the evening.
Mr Buchholz said the investment was about supporting one of the region’s most valued community assets.
“I’m proud to announce that if the LNP is elected, we will invest $450,000 towards lighting upgrades at the Kalbar Showground,” Scott Buchholz said.
“The Kalbar Showgrounds is the heart of the community, bringing people together for events, sports and celebrations.
“These lighting upgrades will improve safety, extend event hours, and make the showgrounds an even better venue for local families and organisations.
“Only the LNP has a plan to invest in our regional communities, improve local infrastructure, and get Australia back on track.”
Kalbar Show Society President Neil Goetsch welcomed the announcement, saying the upgrades would have a lasting impact on the local community.
“This funding will make a huge difference to the showgrounds, allowing us to improve visibility, extend event hours, and provide a better experience for everyone who attends,” Mr Goetsch said.
“Scott Buchholz has been a tireless advocate for our region, and we are incredibly grateful for his support in securing this funding.”
Scenic Rim Regional Council Mayor Tom Sharp also praised the investment, highlighting the importance of the showgrounds to the wider region.
“Kalbar Showgrounds plays a key role in our community, hosting everything from the annual show to sporting events and local gatherings,” Mayor Sharp said.
“This upgrade will ensure the facility is safe, accessible, and ready for future events. I thank Scott Buchholz and the LNP for recognising the importance of investing in our regional spaces.”
