The LNP will ignite an upgrade for the Valley Way-Mount Cotton Road intersection as a major congestion buster in Mount Cotton in the electorate of Springwood if elected next month.
This project will bring significant improvements to the safety, traffic flow, and overall accessibility of the area by reducing congestion, especially during peak hours.
As the Mount Cotton area continues to grow, residents say they need better access to local schools, businesses, and recreational areas.
LNP candidate for Springwood, Susanna Damianopoulos said the $8 million commencement to the project would ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit.
“This intersection is major pinchpoint and our community is frustrated Labor has failed to act, the LNP will green light the project with $8 million to start works and get our roads flowing again,” Ms Damianopoulos said.
“This part of our Safer Roads, Better Transport program to relieve congestion and get our busy roads moving again.
"Time's up for Labor’s expensive failures which have overseen $20 billion-plus in project cost blowouts, that could have instead delivered local infrastructure like upgrades to Valley Way-Mount Cotton Road.”
Susanna Damianopoulos said Queenslanders could vote for $8 million upgrade and a government focused on driving down cost pressures, by voting LNP at this election.
“Nothing will change unless we change the government.
“Our state needs a fresh start and only the LNP has the Right Plan for Queensland’s future.”
