My pledge to you...
Nothing beats living in Kennedy, where I’ve carried out my life. I worked for 19 years for Queensland Police, retiring as a Sergeant in 2020. I served from Brisbane to Mount Isa, Innisfail to Cardwell, and focused on child protection and youth crime.
I’ve seen the best and the worst and I know that when our local economy struggles, our communities suffer.
The past three years under Labor and the Greens in Canberra have weighed us down with soaring costs and the wrong priorities. I decided to stand for parliament because it just can’t go on like this.
I know our local communities. I’ve run tourism businesses on the Cassowary Coast, reef fishing tours and Cardwell’s Port-of-Call bait shop, where I was President of the Chamber of Commerce.
I’ve also served on the Tropical Coast Tourism board.
My pledge to you is simple - I will always fight for our local region. And with your support I pledge to do whatever I can to get Australia back on track.
All the best,
Annette Swaine
